let me ask you this question, and see if you can get it correct.
what does the camels' humps contain? did you say it's water? hmm, think again... while you're thinking, let me share with you this little knowledge i've learned a few days back. White polar bears living in the north pole, are not actually white. They do not have white fur as they appear to be, instead they're actually translucent hollow tubes. cool hur? In this way, their 'fur' will be waterproof. why waterproof? so that after a swim in the freezing ice water, they can just shake the water off their body if not, the water will form a layer of ice on the polar bears. interesting right? don't believe all these? go check wikipedia or any other sources. i was so fascinated by this little fact. they're actually translucent hollow tubes instead of those normal fur......! =) oh oh, camels' humps DO NOT contain water... instead, they contain fats for storage of food. i thought my primary school teacher told me it's water? haa. see, i bet most of you guessed it water right? amazed. found out all these lil lil interesting facts while teaching p6 science. adaptations. |
